“Leadership requires clarity, consistency, and compassion. Your team looks to you for stability, and when you build systems that enable people to excel, the organisation can only grow stronger.” – Andrew Chancellor

We are excited to welcome Andrew Chancellor, CEO at Wellbeing International Foundation. In this CEO@ interview, Andrew shares his journey across banking, international recruitment, and regenerative medicine, offering insight into his leadership philosophy, ethical approach to clinical practice, and the organisation’s strategic direction across the US, Europe, and the Middle East.

Let’s start by getting to know you. Can you tell us a little about yourself, your background, and what you do today as CEO?

My career has been varied. I began in banking with Barclays in Johannesburg and later in London before moving into international recruitment, where I spent many years building businesses in the UK, Europe, and Asia. For the past nine years, I have led Wellbeing International Foundation as CEO, where I oversee our commercial operations and support the development and delivery of regenerative biologics.

What does Wellbeing International do, who do you serve, where are you based, and how can people engage with your product or service today?

Wellbeing International Foundation operates in the regenerative medicine sector, focusing on treatments built from the body’s own healing signals rather than whole cells or surgery. We work with clinicians and research partners to bring evidence-based, responsibly developed biologics into clinical practice. Our clients are mainly people seeking long-term health improvements through scientifically validated, minimally invasive approaches.

Although we are based in Bermuda, we work extensively across the US, Europe, and the Middle East. Anyone who wants to learn more about the Foundation can reach out directly through our website or by contacting me.

How did you come to lead Wellbeing International? What moment or insight made you decide to take the organisation in its current strategic direction?

I met Stephen Ray, the researcher behind Wellbeing’s science. We came from different professional backgrounds, but we aligned immediately on the potential of the underlying biology. What began as casual conversations evolved into structured discussions about how to commercialise the research responsibly and build an organisation that could bring it into everyday clinical use. From there, it grew naturally into the structure we have today.

What is the organisation’s mission, and which values shape your decision-making as CEO?

Our mission is to bring high-quality, evidence-led regenerative science into safe and responsible clinical practice. We are guided by trust, integrity, confidence, and compassion. Compassion is essential to us, and it is often missing in the medical sector. It shapes every decision we make. We will never take advantage of a patient if we believe we cannot help them. If the data suggests they will not benefit, we decline them, even when there may be commercial incentives to proceed. Integrity and trust always come first.

What sets your approach or product offering apart from others in your space?

Scientific rigour and patient wellbeing drive everything we do. This requires consistently high internal standards and evidence-centred commercial decision-making. It also means placing heavy emphasis on education and communication. People need to understand exactly what we do and why. Ethical behaviour and transparency are essential if we expect people to trust us with their care.

How long has Wellbeing International Foundation been operating under your leadership, and what key milestones or moments of pride stand out so far?

I have been leading the organisation for nine years, and two milestones stand out. The first was getting through COVID while maintaining continuity and standards. It was an incredibly challenging period, and the team worked tirelessly to ensure we emerged stronger. The second milestone was establishing a robust clinical network in the United States. The US can be a difficult territory to enter, yet it has become an important part of our international work.

What trends, behaviours, or shifts are you seeing in the wellbeing sector that others might not be talking about yet?

Longevity has always been a major area of interest, but there is now a shift away from the purely aesthetic and toward increasing people’s healthspan. One area that deserves far more attention is how individuals can improve outcomes using their own biological material rather than relying solely on pharmaceuticals. The shift toward natural, evidence-based regenerative support is becoming increasingly significant.

From your experience as CEO, what are the biggest opportunities and challenges for organisations in your sector right now?

One of the biggest opportunities is the rising public awareness of regenerative medicine and health optimisation. However, that awareness brings challenges. Competition is intense, and not all organisations operate with the same scientific or ethical standards. For us, standing out requires being consistent, responsible, and transparent in everything we do.

If someone wants to try your services, collaborate, or invest, what is the best next step?

Get in touch with me directly. We are always open to conversations with people who care about the science and want to explore how we can work together.

Looking 3–5 years ahead, how do you see emerging wellbeing research, technology, or workplace trends shaping the industry? How are you preparing Wellbeing International for that future?

AI will play a major role, especially in diagnostics, data interpretation, and personalisation. We are already reviewing the latest research and technologies because it would be easy to fall behind. Staying ahead requires curiosity, adaptability, and disciplined quality standards. That is the only way to lead on the trends that matter most.

“Hard work, deep sector knowledge, and genuine collaboration outperform enthusiasm alone. Understanding the science, the clients, and the ecosystem is non-negotiable.” – Andrew Chancellor

For anyone looking to enter the wellbeing sector or progress in their career, what advice would you give based on your experience as CEO?

Hard work is fundamental. Beyond that, you must be a team player and develop a deep understanding of your sector. Surface-level knowledge is not enough anymore. You need to understand the science, the clients, and the wider ecosystem. If you are not willing to put in that effort, it is wise to find a role that engages you enough to persevere.

What three tools make your organisation run better, and why are they essential to your daily success?

  • Teamwork – Ensures that clinicians, scientists, and commercial teams move in sync.
  • Leadership – Maintains standards and supports clear decision-making across complex environments.
  • Communication – Keeps everyone aligned, informed, and able to deliver consistently high-quality outcomes.

To finish our CEO@ questions… Our motto is “Everything starts with leadership.” What advice would you give to another leader or someone considering stepping into a CEO role?

Lead with clarity. When you understand your values, know your goals, and build systems that allow your team to excel, your organisation becomes stronger. People look to the CEO for stability. Your job is to set the tone, maintain standards, and empower experts to do their best work. You cannot do any more than that.
